5 Tips to Cure Identity Amnesia.

coaching identity journaling self-awareness Feb 07, 2022

Every day, we are bombarded with lies. Particularly lies we tell ourselves.

We are only able to do our best based on the knowledge we have at the moment. Worry and anxiety reveal what we value and trust. How can we make ourselves more aware? How can we expand our sense of self?

Our #1 tip is do not believe everything you think about yourself.

While this sounds hard, it can be done with the four ways to look inside with courage:

  1. Get connected to yourselfUnleash the power within
  2. Your inner hero is waiting for you. Write I am statements claiming innately who you are now.

I am ________ ( your name) a _______(use several  adjectives like worthy, empowered, resilient, overcomer) who __________ (describe what you do to serve others).  Don’t wait for the hero to come, it’s you.

  3. Learn how to manage your emotions - Daily take a healthy pause - checking in with your emotions when you are experiencing a moment.
  • What are you really feeling?
  • What are triggers that cause your emotions
  • Use will power on yourself. No one else.

4. Avoid criticism - According to author Gay Hendricks in his book  The Big Leap, criticizing yourself        and others are one in the same, are highly addictive and very popular ways of busting up positive energy.  Hendricks recommends you stop criticizing for a day and if it’s easy to do, it’s not an addiction. If it creeps back into your communication unconsciously, it is an addiction.

5. Get a coach – If you want a coach to help you learn and apply your unique talents, sign up for a 15 minute discovery call
