How to engage your employees as your business reopens

"The one element that can really create some significant impact is career well-being because we spend a third of our time at work or focused on our purpose. So if you feel like you're thriving and engaged in the workplace, that impacts your ability to feel good."

Right now, we know that seven out of 10 people aren't thriving. As we return back to normal following COVID-19, we've got to reset. That's why I brought on Jaclynn Robinson, consultant at Gallup, to talk about the five elements of well-being, specifically career well-being, in this week's episode of Dominate Your Day. As a contributing author of Wellbeing at Work- How to build resilient and thriving teams, Jaclynn shares her advice about how to ensure your employees are thriving. In this episode of Dominate Your Day, Jaclynn shares that, "One of the tools that we provide managers with [in Wellbeing at Work- How to build resilient and thriving teamsto help support them in having these well-being conversations, is to have them think about the strengths of the individuals on their team.

For example, if Brian has high responsibility and he's really struggling with his career well-being, how can the manager support Brian given that he leads with responsibility?

In the back of the book, you could go to responsibility & look under career well-being, and it's going to provide a two to three sentence insight on what you can do to support them. So we've done that for each of the five elements of well-being across all 34 themes to really help you think through it and how to have more of these engaging conversations around well-being."
